Melanie always has loved stories about her family, but first started doing serious family history research 14 years ago for a class at Brigham Young University. She began by photographing headstones of family members in Utah and scrolling through microfilm on the microfiche readers in the family history library at BYU. Today she is primarily an "armchair" researcher utilizing online sources for her research after her three young children are in bed. She is an indexing volunteer for FamilySearch and is grateful more and more records are being made available online.
