FamilySearch staff will be populating these parish pages with historical treatises from Lewis' Topographical Dictionary of England and/or the Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales in order to provide users and viewers with as accurate jurisdictional information as possible. As some 'parishes' on the "Parishes" page are NOT actual parishes but chapels of ease or chapelries, the above treatises give critical light revealing each level of jurisdiction--particularly whether a place has its own set boundaries (parish) or, whether a place comes under the boundaried jurisdiction of an ancient parish (chapel/chapelry).
