1820-1830: fur trappers encounter the tribe
1850-1857: Tribe involved in the Rogue River Indian Wars
1851: treaty signed by thirteen chiefs and Commissioner Redick McKee
1853: Rouge River Treaty established a reservation in Oregon
1854:Chasta Costa Treaty; California Shasta lost their land
1856: Removeal to Grande Ronde reservation and Siletz reservation both in Oregon
1864: Klamath Treaty; Shasta of California lost their land and were moved to Klamath River Reservation
1887: General Allotment Act
1939: some of tribe move to Quartz Valley Reservation
1984: Shasta Nation applies for federal recognition
