England Parish Tables: Hertfordshire Part 1

Purpose

To fix and/or add outdated tables on each parish page in Hertfordshire, England. The few already-existing tables are missing important databases. The majority of parish pages are missing a table entirely. The first part of this project will be pasting a new table onto the page.

Instructions

1. Go to the parish page (links are on the Task List) and find the "Church records" heading. Click "Edit source" next to the heading.

The top of this section has this heading: ====Church records====

Near the bottom of this section there may be another heading: ===== Non Conformist Churches =====

2. Delete everything between the "Church records" and the "Non-Conformist Churches" headings.

NOTE: If there is not a "Non-Conformist Churches" heading near the bottom of the section, just delete everything after the "Church records" heading.

To find the names of the neighboring parishes, use [http://maps.familysearch.org/ England Jurisdictions 1851 Map]. In this site, search for the name of the parish, click on the location "pin", click Options and click List contiguous parishes.<br><br>

Records are also available at the [https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/services/libraries-and-archives/hertfordshire-archives-and-local-studies/hertfordshire-archives-and-local-studies.aspx Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies].

4. Add the actual parish name where it says "PARISH NAME" (found twice near the top of the newly-inserted code). Do not put the parish in all caps. (For example: Abington Piggots not ABINGTON PIGGOTS)

5. Put "Adding more complete online church records table" in the Summary box and then click "Save page."

If More Than 1 Table

If there is more than 1 table on the page, make a note in the comments and then leave it. I will go through and add updated church records tables to pages with more than 1 table.
