Has the Barbour Collection, Bibles, census, church, Hale Collection newspaper marriages and deaths, cemeteries, probates, vital records, directories, land, local histories, military, naturalization, passenger arrivals, and e-mail questions.[1]

Large genealogy collection of newspapers, books manuscripts, town histories, maps and lots of genealogies.[2] Holdings include the collection, "Connecticut Archives," 1629–1820. A helpful inventory of this collection is:
  • Connecticut State Library, Guide to Archives in the Connecticut State Library, Third Edition. (Hartford, Connecticut: Connecticut State Library, 1981; Family History Library book 974.6 A1 No. 30).
The State Library also houses the Museum of Connecticut History (860-757-6521).

The Connecticut State Library is located in Hartford, Connecticut with Library Service Centers located in Middletown and Willimantic and the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped is located in Rocky Hill.

The main branch in Hartford offers a wide variety of collections and the lower level of the building houses the Connecticut State Archives.
