  • The Xincas populated the town during the pre-Hispanic era, however it took a strong resistance to finally conquer it in 1524.
  • Chiquimulilla was originally known as Santa Cruz Chiquimulilla.
  • It was belonging to MIta at the conclusion of the independence of Central America.
  • In 1936 the municipality of San Miguel Aroche was integrated into Chiquimulilla.
  • The municipality of Chiquimulilla has a population of approximately 13,000 people[1]
