American Indian reservations in the United States are specific parcels of land, set aside by the the federal government as a residence for specific tribe(s) or groups of American Indians. The government administrative office for a reservation was an agency. Boundaries of reservations have changed over time, some significantly. Some tribal reservations were even located to a different state. Some reservations have been terminated, but their historical records may exist.
