I love to help new users or researchers when I can. Just leave a message and if I can't find the answer I will direct you to someone who can!

I am moderator for the State of Wyoming.  I was born and raised in Wyoming. If you would like to help, I'd love to work with you. Just leave a message on this page and how you would like me to contact you! Kara

Thanks for the welcome[edit source]

Thank you kara for the welcome! I really appreciate it! I have edited every orphan page and included an link back to the original article that that artical was linking back to. Again, thanks!

Reviewer role?[edit source]

Kara, thanks for the Welcome.

Although I have been editing the Orange County, California, page for a year, yours is the first communication from the powers that be. :-)

I have been tasked to create a new page for the Orange (Calif) Large Multi-Stake FHC. The rather vague instructions were to use Riverton's page as a template. I have created a prototype page, not ready for publication, and I was wondering if there's an appropriate method of having it checked by a reviewer?

I've been trying to digest the style and other articles on how things are to be done, but I'm still a newbie. I don't have audio available, so tutorial videos are not useful. Do you have suggestions about forums, discussions or other sources I may join or monitor to continue to learn? Jimmyk418 18:21, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Quick Note of Appreciation[edit source]

We wanted to send out a quick letter of appreciation for all your hard work and dedication in getting the FamilySearch Records project off the ground. The information you provide is invaluable to those users who are searching out further information about collections in FamilySearch; it helps them make a deeper connection with their research, especially when it has to do with their own ancestry. It’s your contributions that are keeping the project rolling forward. Thank you.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We’d love to hear from you and help you out in any way we can.

Moderator/Adopter issues coming to a vote[edit source]

As you probably already know, FamilySearch launched an Adopt-a-Page program at the Federation of Genealogical Societies conference over the summer. Many groups are signing up to adopt a page. We need your help in order to resolve some important questions about the relative roles that Moderators and Adopters ought to play and how they can work together. These questions and discussions are on the new FamilySearch Wiki Contributors' Corner forum. We are going to hold a vote on these issues by year's end, and the resolutions will change the roles Moderators and Adopters play, so please visit the forum and add your thoughts. Thanks! User Talk Pages Forum Thread[edit source]

Hi Kara,

I'd love to hear your thoughts about the importance of user pages!  Can you take a minute and add your thoughts on the Forum thread I've started?  Lise 02:16, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Much thanks to you, for all the  time you have spent in the Wiki with our authors and editors and all contributions you make that have helped the Wiki to grow. The Research Wiki is in its first years but it is growing and becoming a wonderful tool that helps people find answers in one space and costs only in effort to search on their part.

We want to improve the process for Welcoming new authors and editors in the Wiki. I want to make each member of the committee aware of some changes coming in June: I know you and I spoke on the phone but I wanted to post this as well so you can see waht others are receiving. I think most on the committee are busy doing other things on the wiki. I think it has only been you and Vickie. Now it will be you, and Joy who is a new missionary here.

 We will have another Welcome Message Template designed to be more individualized. The others will be there too but we hope that you will use this new welcome message. Steve Cottrell will be helping with the Template, a special thanks to him.
Please read more carefully what the contributor or editor have put on the page. The current steps listed for reviewing the contributions are good to follow.
Avoid adding the welcome message before following the steps outlined.
The question Templates will stay the same.

Kara thanks again for all you do.

England Street Index[edit source]

Kara, please see the Talk page forEngland Street Index Register. There is a suggestion that the title of the page might be changed since some Wales information is included. Would you please take a look at that and see if that is a feasible idea? It looks like you make many contributions to the Wiki. Thanks so much! averyld 20:51, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

Welcoming Committee[edit source]

Hi Kara,

As the new lead for the welcoming committee I wanted to get acquainted with the other members. I read your User Page and am impressed with your knowledge and experience. It is my hope that you will remain an active member of the committee. Please let me know your intention.

Sincerely, Parrisl 21:22, 29 July 2013 (UTC) Welcoming Committee Lead
