Wiki Project National Institute Volunteers

Overall Objectives[edit | edit source]

The purpose of the National Institute Wiki Project is to add content created by the National Institute for Genealogical Studies and replace formatting deleted when added to Wiki.

Guiding Principles[edit | edit source]

  • Make the Wiki pages look as much like the National Institute handouts as possible.
  • Make links to the websites given in the handouts.
  • Make links to the FHL catalog for any FHL books, films, or fiche mentioned in the handouts.

Project Guidelines[edit | edit source]

The following guidelines will be followed by the National Institute Wiki Project members until end of the project when all tasks are completed.

Style[edit | edit source]

Style includes but is not limited to:

  • Heading levels: use levels three, four, five or six; avoid levels one and two
  • Italic for titles of published books
  • Bullets. Items under headings will be bulleted lists.

Wording Changes[edit | edit source]

Before changing the saved wording of another team member who followed these rules you must get their consent (except for obvious minor typos).

Canadian spelling is ok

Don't worry about catagories. They will already be on the Wiki page.

Describe Each Edit - Summary[edit | edit source]

Describe each edit in the Summary field before clicking the Save button.

Non-compliance[edit | edit source]

Non-compliance will result in work being reverted, or changed to follow these rules.
