My ancestry is in the United States, Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany, and Switzerland.

Honors B.A. in French, University of Utah, 1987

Masters of Library Science, Brigham Young University, 1990

Credentials[edit | edit source]

Russell is an Accredited Genealogist researcher in U.S. Midwestern States since 2005.

Experience[edit | edit source]

Reference Manager and Supervisor at the Family History Library. Collection Management Specialist. User System Specialist for FamilySearch MS-DOS systems.

Associations[edit | edit source]

Member of genealogy societies including the Utah Genealogical Association (UGA) and the Nation Genealogical Society (NGS) since 1993. He is past president of UGA. Russell served as Local Host Chair of the NGS 2010 Family History Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Member of library associations including the Utah Library Association (ULA), the American Library Association (ALA), and the International Federation of Library Organizations and Associations (IFLA). Russell serves as an IFLA officer since 2007. Currently he is Chair of the Library Collections Division (Division II).
