Ohio Deaths After 1908[edit | edit source]

The state of Ohio began recording deaths in 1908. There are no restrictions on ordering death certificates from Ohio. Not all deaths occurring in this time period are in the indexes below.

  • If you find the death, but the death record image is not online, you can order a copy.
  • Compare any new information in the record with what was known before to be sure details are consistent
  • Check for a monumental inscription or cemetery record which may link individuals to other family members
  • Check probate records to see if the deceased left a will
