The Channel Island Family History Society was founded in Jersey in 1978, and exists to help people who are studying the history of both Island families (here and abroad) and others who have lived in the Islands. Despite the name, most of our focus is on Jersey, Channel Islands Genealogy, but we have close working relations with colleagues in Guernsey, Channel Islands Genealogy, Alderney, and Sark.

Most of the editing here will be done by James McLaren, who currently edits the Society's quarterly Journal, maintains the website and generally acts as the Society's tame geek.
