submitting information found on headstones

I have recently moved to Romania.  I realize that the church and government here are not sharing information so I would like to go to the cemetaries and gather pictures and information to add to the church's files.  How do I do this?  From what I am reading here, it looks like I need to use find-a-grave or other site but cannot give this information directly to the church.  Am I wrong?

Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated.  I just want to help move the work forward!
