State Information

Selangor, also known by its Arabic honorific Darul Ehsan, or "Abode ofSincerity", is located on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It covers an area of 8,104 km² (3,129 sq mile). It surrounds the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. The state capital is Shah Alam. The head of state is the Sultan, and the head of government is the Menteri Besar. It is Malaysia's most populous state.
