  • The city of Santa Cruz de Oñez was founded in 1598.
  • On August 30, 1826 the province of Colchagua was founded. Since then the town was known as Santa Cruz de Colchagua.
  • On December 22, 1891 the Commune of Santa Cruz was created.
  • The commune of Santa Cruz has a population of approximately 35,300 people.[1].
