Perlis

State Information

Perlis, also known by its honorific title Perlis Indera Kayangan, is the smallest state in Malaysia. It covers an area of 819 km² (316 sq mile). The capitol of the state is Kangar.

Perlis is ruled by the House of Jamalullail. Unlike other Malaysian monarchical states, in which the ruler is a "Sultan", the Perlis ruler is called the "Raja". Raja appoints Menteri Besar, the Chief Minister of the state.
