History[edit | edit source]

Laos does not have an official state religion. Most of the Lao population is Buddhist. The three largest Christian churches are: the Lao Evangelical Church, the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Roman Catholic Church.[1] The Roman Catholic Church has had a presence in Laos since 1885.[2]

Catholic[edit | edit source]

The article "First new church in northern Laos since revolution" discusses modern Catholic history.

To obtain records about an ancestor, contact the local priest of the church where your ancestor attended.
