Two ranches were in existence in the 17th century; the Hato Grande de los Delgado (The Delgados' Great Ranch) and the Hato del Valenciano (Valencian's Ranch). The village of Juncos was a product of the Valencian's Rand in the 18th century and was given the status of a town on August 2, 1797. Population 40,300. [1]
