Known Issues[edit | edit source]

Question 1[edit | edit source]

Question 1: Images which were previously available can no longer be found. How can I view these images?
Answer 1: Whenever possible, FamilySearch makes images available for all users. However, ultimate rights to view images on our website are granted by the record custodians. Italian Data Privacy rules prohibit viewing records unless they meet the following criteria: All birth images must be 100 years or older; all marriage images must be 70 years or older, and all death images must be 70 years or older. If any record on a digital folder contains birth records from the last 100 years, for example, the entire digital folder is restricted.

The Historical Records collections will be updated each year to show new unrestricted records. FamilySearch respects and strives to adhere to all privacy laws respective to preserving and providing access to genealogical records in its collection.

Question 2[edit | edit source]

Question 2: There is a waypoint Teramo > Civitavecchia but Civitavecchia is not in the province of Teramo. What is the correct location of these records?
Answer 2: The collection is owned by Tribunale di Teramo and is listed in the Catalog as being from Fano Adriano, Teramo, Italia. The correct waypoint would be Teramo > Fano Adriano. The records themselves are going to come from various places because they are allegati.

Question 3[edit | edit source]

Question 3: When searching records in this collection for Corropoli > Allegati (matrimony) 1883, I do not find records for 1883, but I find a variety of records for different years, including 1903. How do I find marriage records for 1883?
Answer 3: Allegati is the Italian version of Banns but usually contains records from many different places and times to support that someone is able to be married. These can be tricky to identify with many documents from different years. The title of the book is the key to our browse search.
