FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject England Parish Tables: Cambridgeshire Part 3a
Project Leader[edit | edit source]
Purpose[edit | edit source]
To fix the outdated tables on each parish page in Cambridgeshire, England. These tables contain many broken links, are missing important databases, or list databases that are not very useful in finding vital records in England. The third part of this project with be adding links to the IGI in the table.
Task List[edit | edit source]
Instructions[edit | edit source]
For this part of the project, we will be adding to the IGI part of the table.
The IGI code that we will changing looks like:
|-
| bgcolor="#ffffcc" | '''IGI'''
| bgcolor="#ffcccc" |
| bgcolor="#ffcccc" | <br>
| bgcolor="#ccffcc" |
| bgcolor="#ccffcc" | <br>
| bgcolor="#ccffff" | <br>
| bgcolor="#ccffff" | <br>
|-
It is found in this part of the code:
Step 1[edit | edit source]
1. Go to: www.archersoftware.co.uk/igi/fs-cam.htm.
- The Archer Software lists birth/christening and marriage IGI collections for each parish (no burials). We will be adding these collections to the table on each parish page.
2. Scroll down to the parish you are working on. (An example is shown below)
3. Add all of the Births/Baptisms, Births, and/or Baptisms IGI collections to the first space in the code below using this template: {{IGI|BATCH NUMBER|disp='''YEAR RANGE'''}}
To Note:
- Only add the IGI batch if the batch has 50 or more entries.
- The number of entries in the batch is found:
- If there is more than one batch for the Births/Baptisms, add a comma between the links. Put the batches in chronological order (older batch first).
- If there are no IGI collections for the parish, then put a <br> on the line.
- Do not add Mixed collections unless the number of entries (located on the left) is 50 or more. Disregard the number is parentheses.
- Do not add collections from Independent chapels
For example:
- The parish of Binfield has two Births/Baptisms IGI collections (C020371 and C020373) with 50 or more entries:
| bgcolor="#ffffcc" | '''IGI''' | bgcolor="#ffcccc" | {{IGI|C020371|disp='''1551-1812'''}}, {{IGI|C020373|disp='''1607-1835'''}} | bgcolor="#ffcccc" | <br> | bgcolor="#ccffcc" | | bgcolor="#ccffcc" | <br> | bgcolor="#ccffff" | <br> | bgcolor="#ccffff" | <br>
4. Add all of the Marriages IGI collections to the second space in the code below using this template: {{IGI|BATCH NUMBER|disp='''YEAR RANGE'''}}
To Note:
- Only add the IGI batch if the batch has 50 or more entries.
- The number of entries in the batch is found:
- The number of entries in the batch is found:
- If there is more than one batch for the Marriages, add a comma between the links.
- The parish of Binfield has three Marriages IGI collections (M020371, M020373, and M020372) with 50 or more entries:
| bgcolor="#ffffcc" | '''IGI''' | bgcolor="#ffcccc" | {{IGI|C020371|disp='''1551-1812'''}}, {{IGI|C020373|disp='''1607-1835'''}} | bgcolor="#ffcccc" | <br> | bgcolor="#ccffcc" | {{IGI|M020371|disp='''1538-1753'''}}, {{IGI|M020373|disp='''1612-1835'''}}, {{IGI|M020372|disp='''1754-1812'''}} | bgcolor="#ccffcc" | <br> | bgcolor="#ccffff" | <br> | bgcolor="#ccffff" | <br>
Important Note: if the parish is not in the IGI or does not have birth/baptism and marriage batches large enough, delete the IGI from the table.
Step 2[edit | edit source]
Go back to England Parish Tables: Cambridgeshire Part 3 and move to Step 3.
Example[edit | edit source]
For the parish of Binfield (image shown above), two Births/Baptisms batches (C020371 and C020373) and three Marriages batches (M020371, M020373, and M020372) would be added.
The code looks like:
| bgcolor="#ffffcc" | '''IGI''' | bgcolor="#ffcccc" | {{IGI|C020371|disp='''1551-1812'''}}, {{IGI|C020373|disp='''1607-1835'''}} | bgcolor="#ffcccc" | <br> | bgcolor="#ccffcc" | {{IGI|M020371|disp='''1538-1753'''}}, {{IGI|M020373|disp='''1612-1835'''}}, {{IGI|M020372|disp='''1754-1812'''}} | bgcolor="#ccffcc" | <br> | bgcolor="#ccffff" | <br> | bgcolor="#ccffff" | <br>
The table looks like:
