Announcements[edit | edit source]

News items can now be found on the Community News page in the Wiki.

  • Someone on the French wiki needs some help setting up the browse by country page. All language wiki's are not integrated with the FamilySearch single-sign-on, consequently you will need to register on the site if you can help them. They posted the issue on the Forum --Fran
  • The stub-sorting project is on it's way! Our support team is now fully-engaged and all the US States stub-sorting categories were created for their use. --Fran
  • The Louisiana page has some problems with the page layout. Support received a request for help, but they don't know how to help the user fix the page. If anyone can help, feel free to fix the problem. This is a copy of what was reported: When I went to the wiki page for Louisiana on the Internet Explorer 8 an overlap shows up to the right of the page and over the writing it says welcome to Louisiana then when I scroll down further there is an overlay about research tools over Did you know? --Thanks! Fran
The problem with the Louisiana page was that some text within the sidebar was not wrapping in some browsers. I've fixed this be adding some link text to the long URLs and removing some non-breaking spaces that were not needed. --Steve 14:47, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
  • There is another issue I encountered lately since I changed my preference to change to old skin, I am required to sign in TWICE if I am going to edit anything the first go. AWKKK! dsammy 19:57, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
I've also seen the same issue. I will be reviewing the backlog of issues today and will make sure this one is there. --Fran 20:02, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Discussion Items[edit | edit source]

From the Community[edit | edit source]

  • What are the items that the community wants to talk about today?

From FamilySearch Staff[edit | edit source]

  1. I'm helping Elaine with creating a template for family history and genealogical societies to use when creating a page for their society. The template I'm helping her with is the one for the content the society might want to add to their wiki page. We welcome your feedback on this template. --Fran 18:50, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
    • {{Society}} - the template still needs the instructions written on the documentation page.
  2. Myself and Steve are working on an info box for societies. This info box will be added to the society's wiki page. We welcome your feedback about the info box. --Fran 18:50, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
  3. Help talk:Namespaces
